Duties

  • Plans, organizes, schedules and coordinates nonrecurring program segments in accordance with guidelines to support community interests and needs. This includes arranging for supplies and support services such as transportation and drivers, facilities, security and funding.
  • Responsible for ticket resale, tours, and special events.
  • Works with Marketing department to ensure the ITT program and its activities are well publicized.
  • Negotiates contracts with vendors and is responsible for the accurate and proper receipt, control and distribution of tickets. Arranges various tours, trips, and other travel attractions to include obtaining brochures, discount cards, details, requirements, and related publicity.
  • Provides patrons with tour/trip information such as departure times, arrival times, ensures payments are received in a timely fashion and ensures the safety and comfort of patrons. Resolves customer complaints and arranges adjustments or refunds, and answers sensitive questions regarding established policies, type of merchandise available, price limitations, and identification requirements.
  • May act as tour escort for in-state and out-of-state tours by accompanying group, acting as guide, insuring transfers and reservations are in order and accounting for passengers to insure a successful trip.
  • Trains other Community Center employees who may also be required to sell tickets while maintaining program oversight.
  • Accounts for all ITT funds and assets, controls the security of cash registers, ticket stock, daily sales receipts. Prepares daily activity reports and makes appropriate deposits to the Central Cashier. Maintains accountability of a large resale inventory in excess of $10,000. Maintains financial and customer usage data and analyzes programs offered. Provides input for preparation budget and capital requirements for ITT program.
  • Evaluates popularity and marketability of all tickets to establish sales trends, reorder levels, and determine if tickets sales are to be continued or terminated.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office programs to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other software applications in the course of performing daily duties.
  • Advises Manager in related matters of personnel administration. In supervisor's absence, acts as Lead providing direction and guidance based on established activity/program guidelines.
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations pertaining to vehicle operation. Performs pre-check and post-check on all equipment used to include tractors and vehicles. Monitors equipment and vehicles during use an reports any issues immediately. Operates a Government Vehicle in the course of duties.

  • This position is subject to irregular tour of duty.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which provides a thorough general knowledge of the goals, principles, methods and techniques of the broad field of recreation and a thorough understanding of the recreation and leisure interests. Experience in administrative work which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Must possess extensive knowledge and skill in oral and written communication to insure appropriate interaction with vendors and customers. Must possess skill in office computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other software applications. Familiarity with purchasing procedures, knowledge of product sources, transportation methods, and payment procedures is desired.

Work requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, and carrying. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing over 50 pounds. Frequently exposed to possibility of cuts and serious injuries and/or falls. Works both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to elements, cold and heat, humidity, rain, drafts, dirt, dust, and noise. Special care is required to avoid serious injury.
