Recreation Specialist

Position Purpose:

The Recreation Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the Recreation

Coordinators and Recreation Manager and helps plan, coordinate, and deliver recreation

programs, events, and services. This position directly facilitates assigned programs and

activities and supports daily operations through customer service, program registration, facility

reservations, payment processing, program logistics, permitting assistance, and record keeping.

This position also assists Human Resources with coordinating seasonal hiring for the Parks and

Recreation Department. Under the guidance of Human Resources personnel and in

collaboration with recreation staff, the Recreation Specialist supports recruitment, applicant

communications, interview scheduling, onboarding coordination, employee documentation, and

communication regarding required training. This is an in-person position that is not eligible for

regular remote work.

Experience and Training:

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.  

 Job Requirements: Valid Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Ability to pass background check and MVR with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of files and information.

 Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job: Five years of related administrative support and customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Recreation field a plus.

This position is Full-time with benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, retirement, vacation, sick, and holiday Pay. Wage range is $23.67-$26.09 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is open until Sunday, October 25th at 11:59pm.
